SES is currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Environmental Design Team.

A successful candidate should have strong written and oral communication skills and a background in Stormwater Management Design, Stream Restoration, and/or Sediment and Erosion Control Design

  • PE registered in Maryland required, additional mid-Atlantic state registrations desired
  • 6+ years experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field required
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience with stormwater management design and permitting
  • Experience with erosion and sediment control design and permitting
  • Experience with H&H analyses for stream restoration
  • Experience with drainage system design preferred
  • Experience with environmental consulting and/or civil engineering practices (Forest Conservation Plans, Wetland Delineations/Wetland Impact Plates, Planting Plans, Environmental Assessments, and similar environmental documents)
  • Interest in and understanding of current environmental issues and a shared vision for sustainability is strongly desired
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and co-workers 
  • Organized work approach in order to manage the diverse nature of the work required
  • Ability to work independently and promptly grasp new concepts 

Software Experience

  • Microstation required
  • GEOPAK and/or INROADS required
  • WIN TR-20
  • WIN TR-55
  • HEC-RAS

Training

SES is currently seeking a NEPA Project Manager to join our Planning Team.

SES is currently seeking a dynamic, NEPA-experienced Project Manager to join our Planning Team. Requirements A successful candidate should be an experienced planner able to perform a variety of mid-level professional duties related to demographic, socio-economic and land use analysis. Must have experience in preparing CEQ/NEPA documents for state and federal clients. Typical project will include:

  • socioeconomic studies
  • indirect and cumulative effects evaluations
  • environmental justice analysis
  • public involvement programs
  • air quality and noise studies
  • 4(f) impact evaluations
  • community planning
  • greenway, open space, trail, heritage resource planning
  • and more depending on your particular interests
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills as well as good organizational, oral and written communication skills, especially the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences. Strong self-motivation and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, environmentally conscious, team environment are also necessary.

Practical experience using statistical, spreadsheet and database management software is essential. Experience using ArcGIS and other computer-based mapping and analytical tools are highly desirable.

At a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Public Administration, Transportation, Urban Studies, or a related field, plus three or more years of relevant experience. A Master’s Degree may be substituted for one year of relevant experience. AICP or eligibility is desirable. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.


For all positions, the ability to assist in the company’s other service areas, including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, natural and socioeconomic resource planning, and/or environmental design services is desirable.
